Day 1An early flight puts us at the airport at 6 am!
The Magical Express takes us straight to our amazing resort, Art of Animation! We unpack in our LITTLE MERMAID room (squee) and rest for a couple hours. We are freezing. And we're from Minnesota in January so that's saying something my friend. Brent explores the resort and brings back hot cocoas and coffee. We drink them while watching Doc McStuffins. So far, vacation is great.
We bundle up and head to the Magic Kingdom. We just want a little visit! Just a little hit. We have fast passes for Peter Pan so that is a totally magical way to start us off!!!!
We eat dinner at Pinnochio's Village Haus, which is nice and warm (we are still freezing). Our flatbread is delicious and they give Brent two hot cocoas that were made by mistake. AWESOME! Mimi has nothing but cocoa for dinner. We have the best table with a perfect view of It's a Small World.
Then the girls are so tired, and Bella is seemingly getting sick, so we head back. The bus comes super fast and we are back in a jiffy. The girls and Brent get gelatos in the food court while I get wine and cough syrup in the gift shop. Just the essentials you know! We go to bed excited for a big day at Epcot tomorrow!
Day 2This morning we slept in and Bella was feeling much better after a good night's sleep. We have lucky charms and a "Merida" cake Brent brought us from the food court. It takes him like 40 minutes to walk there round trip we are SO FAR from the lobby. My $99 room deal appears to have had a catch! Mimi teaches us a new game "What's Changed" while we wait in the room.
We pick up autograph journals our our way to the bus. And then it's off to Epcot. These buses from AoA are great! They leave so quickly.
At Epcot, we go straight to Test Track for our 11am Fast Passes. Mimi and I watch The Jammitors while Bella and Brent ride. Mimi is not a fan of any aspect of Test Track.
Then we ride Ellen's energy adventure. You can't go wrong with that ride. We came a LONG way to have Ellen teach us about energy!
We have a backpack lunch and are already kind of tired.
We head to Spaceship Earth and The Seas.
First ice cream break of the trip!!
And now we can wait no longer for our favorite activity! AGENT P ADVENTURE!! We head to the U.K. That's a good one. The girls want to do it on their own--so independent! A novelty for Brent and I, who try to look busy approximately 15-20 feet away at all times.
Brent waits in line for Alice for the girls. We bring him a Bass Ale. It's thirsty work!
We continue on our Agent P spy adventure.
This guy looks suspicious. Maybe part of the spy adventure?
Our big spy finale ends us right next to Tigger and Piglet! How super cute is that.
Then, oddly, the girls spend 45 minutes coloring Duffy bear pictures. Go with the flow, right?
Brent and Bella listen to British Invasion.
I enjoy the view.
The girls play hide-n-seek in the English hedge with some other kids. Mimi is small and a very good hider!
We decide it is time to get to Canada for our Le Cellier dinner reservation. I am so excited for this!! We watch the O Canada movie first, just to get in the mood.
Amazing. Obviously. Brent and I both get Filet Mignon. Bella eats more steak than I do. Even Mimi eats most of a steak. My plan to starve them with the "backpack lunch" (code for granola bars and trail mix) has worked.
On the way out of the park we stop in Norway so I can buy my precious Norwegian perfume. ahhhh my preeeeeccious.
When I come out of the store, I am alarmed to see how punchy Bella is. Super Punchy! Which is cute except Super Punchy Bella can turn into Sobbing Trainwreck Bella in the blink of an eye.
Time to go!
On the way out, for some reason she makes me promise to always bring her along to Disney and never go without her. I promise she will ALWAYS be invited to come along on any Disney trip I take. So. Sweet.
We ride the POP bus back and walk to our Animation room across the lake. We are tired!
Coming up next--part 2, in which I almost get tazed by a cast member.
