Bella picked the theme of an Ever After High Mad Tea Party for her birthday this year! It turned out so cute.
We made treats for tea time, nut rolls of course.
And also Turkish Delight, as requested by the birthday girl. I had to go to the Holy Land Deli to get it!
My Maddie Hatter cake turned out a little crazier than I had hoped. But Bella was absolutely thrilled with it!
We set the table with tea things. Each girl got a tea cup and saucer I purchased from Goodwill.
Bella wore her Maddie Hatter skirt--it looks super cute on her!
After all the girls had arrived, we handed out character cards (see here) telling which Ever After High character they were going to be. Then everyone got class schedules (see here) with things like Riddlish (joke telling) and Theater (an Ever After puppet show).
After we'd whipped through some of the 'classes' (quicker than I thought!), it was time for walking tacos for dinner. Then of course cake and ice cream.
We let the girls jump around and play dance party after dinner.
Then we all gathered back up in the kitchen to make bottle cap necklaces, featuring Ever After High characters. I had ordered all the supplies from Amazon, and I had enough for each girl to make about 10 each. And boy did they!! They whipped through this project like they were on the assembly line in a sweat shop.
Then we did the slumber party thing--crunching all these girls into our living room. They finally went to sleep around 11:30. Whew!
In the morning, I baked scones that I had frozen, and sausages, and homemade orange julius. Scones and sausages is Bella's favorite breakfast!
We had so much fun planning and having this party! But I still could not wait for the parents to come pick up! :)
06 February 2015
Day 5.We are up early and playing in our Little Mermaid room in our Little Mermaid nightie with our Little Mermaid dollies! Or at least Little Mimi Mermaid is!
We decide to enjoy breakfast at our resort this morning. YUMMO! Landscape of Flavors INDEED! There are Cars shaped waffles (nuf said). I got an Indian breakfast platter with paneer for breakfast!
We do a little pin trading at the resort. We are still using our pins we ordered off eBay (probably mixed fake and real) and have yet to have any problems!
Then we are off to Animal Kingdom!!
I just love this park. I've said it before and I'll say it again.
We are chilly so I start off with hot tea. Brr.
The girls just love working on Wilderness Explorer badges. We are such suckers for the in-park adventures games!!
We doink around with that until our 12:30 Finding Nemo: The Musical Fast Passes. We swim together WE SWIM TOOOOOOOO GETHER!!!! Love. Love. Love.
We head over to Kilimanjaro Safari.
We see animals!
The girls enjoy it!
A little nervous over the bumps. Mimi is grabbing Bella's pants.
We decide it is time for some Adult Whip. (Dole whip WITH RUM that's right). I get coconut rum, which is not very rummy and in fact I end up sharing the top part with Mimi (the rum is on the bottom, like a float). Brent gets dark rum and his is super rummy. No sharing for him!
Anyway. Then we board the train for Rafiki's Planet Watch--something we've never had time for!
The girls are excited to earn so many badges at Rafiki's! And the train ride is fun. We head to Festival of the Lion King.
We are getting tuckered out and it is getting to be close to our dinner reservation at Sanaa. We take the bus and get off at the wrong stop. The waaaay wrong stop! But the scenic route suits us. A good time for a stroller nap.
And enjoying some outside Animal Kingdom Lodge action.
With a bonfire and rocking chairs! Oh yeah, the Deluxe resort life--I forgot about that!
We really enjoy our dinner, we get Indian and African foods. We get the Indian Bread Service as an appetizer with all nine sauces to try. YUMMERS! The girls could have eaten about six more pieces of Naan.
But look instead we fill them up with smoothies and frost-your-own-sugar cookies!
When we are done at Sanaa we wander up to the lobby and that's when it occurs to us that we can't just take a bus back to Art of Animation! Ha ha so much for my superior WDW planning abilities!! No problem though, we just take a taxi and it's only like $12.
When we get back to the resort around 9, guess what? MY GLASSES have finally arrived!!!
What a great day!
This morning we lolly gag. Mimi has been complaining that we "are always getting up early and rushing our feet off!" I wanted to be sure she had at least one slow start day.
We play in our room until about 10:30. The girls are so happy to be relaxing and playing with their toys. It's the simple pleasures sometimes!
Here's a good chance for me to show off my Grid-It purse organizer--all packed for the day! It keeps everything from sinking to the bottom of my bag. Nice, huh?
We ride the bus to Magic Kingdom.
We started our day off right with Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom!
I get my COVETED Starbucks Mug!!!! This mug is only available at the Starbucks on Main Street and I apologize for making you insanely jealous. But there it is.
I get distracted by a HUGE Frozen gift shop and ended up buying super cute Anna and Elsa play sets. And look it's Snow Queen Minnie!
Then it's time for our Liberty Tree Tavern lunch! I had booked this restaurant because it is very beloved in the online Disney community. We give it a "meh." The pot roast at 50s Prime Time was way better!
After lunch, it's time for Peter Pan! The girls jump in a boat with Brent and I am riding by myself! ha! All the better for a photo opp.
We camp out for the Festival of Fantasy parade. We see a little of the Castle show.
Can't camp out for a parade without ice cream!
We parent-swap on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (we had two Fast Passes) while the other sits with the girls on the parade route.
Then the parade starts and WOW we are so close it feels like the floats are running us over! And the floats are HUGE! Very cute though.
After the parade we do the Tomorrowland Speedway. Vroom vroom!
And my favorite, the People Mover! VROOM VROOM!
Then it's time for Anna and Elsa Fast Passes. That was a very tricky FP to get, so that makes it all the sweeter! VICTORY HUGs!!
Sisters meeting sisters. CUTENESS.
After the sisterly cuteness we are getting a little panicky. It's our LAST day at Magic Kingdom! We go ride the Magic Carpets and the Laugh Floor--two favorites. Then we leave and say goodbye to Magic Kingdom. We get some dinner to take to our room at the hotel food court and eat TV dinner style and it is delicious.
I throw in a load of laundry and the girls fall asleep while I'm folding it. I think we are tuckering them out this trip!
