Bella is a chatty little thing. She never hesitates to try out a new phrasing ("I need zippering!") or use a word she just heard for the first time ("Let's have a cappucino party!"). Here she is asking for thirds of her dessert of blackberries with whipped cream:
Bella asks for more blackberries (wav)
She is eating dessert with great gusto after giving my orzo with garbanzo beans a lukewarm reception. This weekend we made homemade soft pretzels--one of my favorite things to bake. She now requests a pretzel several times a day. Which warms the cockles of my twisted and salty heart.
Saturday marked the dismantling of the crib. Now Bella is free to pop in and out of bed as she pleases! She came walking into our bedroom the first morning and woke me up: "Mommymommymommymommy [ed. note: this part goes on for about 2 hrs]--Shhhhhhh. Daddy's sleeping."
ANYTHING ELSE TO REPORT, CAPTAIN OBVIOUS?
I, being lazy and preferring to keep my kid in a little cage, was dreading--dreading--the switch. But she is just busting with toddler pride and actually stays put in there just fine. Hooray for big girl beds!
